PSI Powerfeed Systems

Powerfeed in lieu of a chute feed system means:

  • 25%-35% Higher production rates through the same size drum.
  • Increased debarking efficiency.
  • Reduced wood breakage and fiber damage.
  • Low infeed height for "Ground Feeding" flexibility.

Under license by Kone Wood, PSI offers the patented and proven cylindrical powerfeed technology for drum debarker sizes up to 11'-0" in Diameter.

PSI's proprietary chain bed and cylindrical trough design conveys materials of varying lengths and diameters effectively into the drum. A sloped transition plate at the infeed point supports stems and reduces breakage. Superior debarking is achieved by keeping the log stems horizontal throughout the debarking process.

Because of its low height, it is possible to feed the debarking system with rolling stock or hydraulic loaders as well as cranes. A covered infeed section acts as an extension to the drum allowing log stems to rotate and start the debarking process prior to engaging the drum.

Powerfeed technology can be retrofitted into existing chute fed systems. 25% to 35% more production would be realized using the same drum while increasing the bark removal efficiency.
